Is GRÜM private? Can I keep my cuts private?
Yes. Your haircut library is private by default. Nothing is shared publicly unless you explicitly opt in. QR shares are time-limited and you can revoke them at any time. You can also delete entries and remove public posts whenever you want.
Will this work if my barber doesn't use GRÜM?
Absolutely. When you share a QR code, your barber opens a read-only Barber View in their mobile browser. No app download required. They instantly see your cut recipe and reference photos—everything they need to replicate your look.
How do QR shares work and do they expire?
You generate a time-limited QR code for any cut in your library. Set the expiration window (hours or days) and share it. Your barber scans it to see the full recipe and photos. You can revoke access at any time, even before expiration.
Do you identify faces?
No. GRÜM does not use facial recognition. AI features are non-identifying and based on hair attributes and style preferences only. We also offer optional face blurring for any photos you share publicly or with barbers.
Is GRÜM for men only?
We're launching with a focus on men's haircuts and barbershops, but the recipe-and-reference workflow works for anyone. Women's hair, nails, lashes, and other beauty services are on the roadmap for future expansion using the same core system.
When do booking and payments launch?
In-app booking and payments are coming soon after our initial launch. We're building a seamless experience with support for card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, tips, and digital receipts. Barbers will receive payouts via a Stripe Connect-style system.
Can barbers control recipe sharing?
Yes. Barbers have full control over their own recipes and portfolio content. Permissioned recipe sharing is on our roadmap, allowing barbers to approve time-limited access to specific recipes. Client-side recipes remain under client control.
What about my data?
You own your data. You can delete haircut entries, revoke QR shares, and request a full export of your haircut history and media at any time. We don't sell your personal data and all AI features are non-identifying.
